COT Main Event Team Building - January 2025
To start off the year, COT organized a vibrant team-building event at Main Event Center that included a variety of fun activities such as bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. Many volunteers enjoyed snacking on pizza and unlimited drinks while they came together to have a great time, with some even scoring impressive points—up to 105 with 2 strikes in bowling!
The laser tag game was an exciting highlight where teamwork was essential; the goal was to shoot others with a laser while working together to secure the high ground. Laughter and surprise echoed throughout the venue as volunteers plotted strategies, pulled off clever maneuvers, and aimed for victory.
In addition to bowling and laser tag, the team took part in a friendly trivia competition that sparked creativity and collaboration. Groups formed to tackle various categories, resulting in lively discussions and some playful debates. There were also trust-building exercises, such as a blindfolded obstacle course, which encouraged effective communication and fostered stronger relationships among teammates.
As the event progressed, volunteers battled it out in arcade games like 2-Player Crossy Road and Air Hockey, where competition reached new heights. Spectators gathered around the matches, groaning in frustration or cheering with excitement as points were gained or lost. The energy was palpable, and the sense of camaraderie grew stronger with each game.
To wrap up the day, a group challenge allowed teams to create the most creative structure using limited materials, fostering collaboration and innovation. By the end of the team-building event, even drooping eyelids and heavy, exhausted steps could not hide the joy the volunteers felt. The day was a successful blend of fun, teamwork, and community spirit, bringing this wonderful event to a close.
